Video Classics: Skipping over 110 ropes

By Rachel Swatman
Published

This classic clip from a Chinese TV show in 2011 shows Wang Zhuoxin, a young school girl from Zhuang Central Primary School in Beijing, China, jumping over 110 skipping ropes - all at once!

Standing either side of her in two large semi-circles, 55 of Wang's school mates swung the ropes – making sure they all moved together so as not to trip their friend up.

The challenge was a successful attempt at the record for Most ropes skipped, with Guinness World Records official Angela Wu on hand to judge it.

Previously the record was 90 ropes and was achieved by Ma Liang and the students of Jiang Bei Ting Tang Primary School for Bikkuri Chojin Special #3 (Fuji TV) in Dong Yang City, China, in 2010.
