For those who think skateboarding is a “boy sport”, you need to check out McCauley and her impressive moves. 🛹
At just 11 years old, McCauley Hoover from Virginia, United States, managed to break not one, but two world records:
McCauley was around 8 years old when she discovered her passion for skateboarding: “I loved it because it made me feel like I was free and flying!”. ❤️
One day, as she was scrolling on YouTube, she came across the Guinness World Records channel and thought to herself: “I want to beat one too!”.
The young skateboarder had great confidence in her skills. “Last summer I looked up the skateboard records for Girls, when I saw the records for most Frontside and Backside Grinds in under a minute, I felt like I could beat them.”
Soon she started practising on different ramps and bowls around her home town, always being encouraged and supported by her family and friends.
After lots of practice and hard work, she finally decided to attempt breaking the record…
On the day, she was challenged by the freezing temperatures and high winds. “Luckily, I had a pretty big crowd cheering me on!”.
On 15 January, with all her confidence and enthusiasm, McCauley managed to break both records in one day. 😎
You can check out both her successful attempts here:
McCauley is a girl of many talents and hobbies. In fact, she is also good at surfing and she enjoys practising the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
She even has her own clothing brand!
One of McCauley’s dreams is to become a professional skateboarder.
She hopes that one day she will break the Brazilian skateboarder Leticia Bufoni’s record for the most gold medals by a female at the X Games, a world-famous yearly sports event!
She also set a goal to skateboard every day of 2023…
Now, that’s what we call dedication. 💪
This little girl has big dreams, and we are here to cheer her on – especially now that she’s officially part of the Guinness World Records family! 🤩
