Miriam Alami (Morocco) has scored herself a Guinness World Records title with her fantastic freestyle football skills!
The 16-year-old student has achieved her goal of doing the most football touches with the shin in one minute (female), with a total of 151. ️⚽️
Miriam destroyed the previous record of 105, which was held by famous football freestyler Laura Biondo (Venezuela), who holds many world records.
Miriam has now kicked off her own world record collection in style and, along with her twin sister Nour, will be looking to score many more.
Miriam is very close to her twin sister Nour. They have been freestyling together for over four years, since they were 12. 👧👧

When applying to enter a talent show on TV, Miriam was asked if she held any record or award that made her special. At the time she didn’t have any, but she saw it as the perfect opportunity to go and get one!
Miriam visited the Guinness World Records website to see if there were any records she might be able to break.
“I am skilled with juggles in a seated position so I selected the most football touches with the shin in one minute,” she explained. ️⚽️🦵️
In her very first practise attempt, Miriam was able to easily beat the record!

Because Miriam already had the skills and confidence to break the record, she didn’t do much training in the lead up to her official attempt. 😎
She said that the only major problem “was an injury of my leg muscles because I did not make a correct warm-up.”
On the day of her official attempt, Miriam was super relaxed and focussed on breaking the record. However, she got slightly nervous when her audience arrived. 😅
“I knew I had to do my best because of their presence,” Miriam said.
After a first successful attempt, and then a second successful attempt, Miriam had broken the record… or so she thought.
Everyone started celebrating, but then Miriam was told that her attempts were disqualified! 😲
In order to achieve the record, the ball had to directly touch her shin, but Miriam was wearing tracksuit pants.
Miriam now had one attempt remaining and she needed to make it count. 😬
“I pulled the pants up above the knee and started,” Miriam said. “It was like magic. I performed a PERFECT MINUTE.” 👏
Miriam achieved her best score yet, breaking the record for most football touches with the shin in one minute (female) with 151 touches.
By achieving this world record, Miriam hopes to promote the sport of freestyle football, an “athletic and artistic sport that needs strength, flexibility, precise skills and endurance.”

Miriam plans to break more records, but only once twin sister Nour has achieved her own world record. We look forward to seeing them in action again in the future!
