Vroom vroom, here comes an epic car record. 🚗💨

If you've ever played with the world's hottest metal cars, then you're going to love this story.

5-year-old Gavin and dad Chase Lane, both from Oregon, USA, decided to celebrate Father’s Day by breaking the record for most loop-the-loops in a Hot Wheels track (supported), with the amazing number of... 20 loop-the-loops!

Gavin and Chase are very close - they ride bikes and scooters together, play with Lego and, of course, Hot Wheels. 🔥

Do you have any of the same hobbies?

All their friends and family members came together to cheer for the duo during their attempt, making the day even more special:

But how did they even decide to take on this challenge?

It all started when Chase came across a picture of the previous record holders, Tim Trevitt and his grandson Mason Gonzales, who did 19 loop-the-loops. They got so inspired that they decided to try and set an even better score!

“I knew we had a hundred cars and we could do it,” the dad explained. “I had family pitch in to buy the rest of the loops we needed. I knew it would be a fun thing for us to do together!”.

Once they had all the loops they would need, it was time to find the perfect spot to set it all up.

Then, they tried a few different tricks to set up the loops, such as adding more stabilizers, from cardboard to tape. Sounds like hard work. 😵‍💫

“The whole thing took about 6 hours,” Chase told us... wow!

Stabilizing the tracks was definitely a challenge, but not the biggest one...

According to the dad, the hardest part was actually getting little Gavin to help and stay focused through all these hours of work.

And who can blame him? 😭

But all's well that ends well, and Gavin is now super happy to be an official record breaker!

His dance at the end of the attempt was one of my favourite moments. When I congratulated him, I teared up!

Once the record was officially approved, Gavin could proudly tell all his friends at school and share it with the whole class!

Chase told us that Gavin is quite the gentleman. 😎

For example, he told us: “My son always opens doors for girls, and specifically my fiancée, every time we go home or to car”.

According to Chase, “Getting the official document will be a big highlight plus properly framing it with the car that we used for the record.

“We feel great, everyone is amazed that we made the effort and took the time to do this. No one we know has completed or attempted a record.”

So what does the future hold for this record-breaking duo?

When we asked them if they'd think of attempting another record soon, Chase said: “When I have another kid we will try to beat another record. Not sure what or when it will be but…

“I'm keeping these 20 tracks to try and add more later!”

How amazing would it be if Gavin passed on his experience and helped his little brother or sister gain a record title? 🥹

Lastly, if you are considering breaking a record yourself, here is Gavin and Chase's advice: “Choose something you truly enjoy. Having it complete and get to hold a record just blows you away”.

Congratulations Gavin and Chase, you are Officially Amazing! 🎉
