Well, after reading Sidak's story, you'll be dreaming of his hair instead!
Sidakdeep Singh Chahal has never had a haircut in his entire life.
That's how the 15-year-old from Uttar Pradesh, India, has managed to grow it to a length of 146 cm (4 ft 9.5 in), setting a world record for the longest hair on a male teenager. 🤯
But how does one take care of such long hair?
Sidak washes it twice a week and dedicates at least an hour on it each time: first the washing, then the drying, then the endless brushing!
“It would take an entire day if it wasn’t for the help of my mother,” he told us.
The reason behind Sidak's unique hair is his religion. He is a Sikh, and one of the religion’s core tenets is that you never cut your hair, as it is a gift from God.
As most Sikhs, Sidak usually ties his hair in a bun and covers it with a dastār (turban). 👳🏽
And even though Sidak’s family, as well as many of his friends, are Sikhs, none of them have hair as long as him: “Many of my relatives were shocked to see how long it was”.
In fact, when he revealed to his loved ones that his hair had set a world record, some of them were in disbelief. As Sidak said: “They thought I was pulling their leg and it took a bit of proof to convince them”.
But how does it feel to have something so unique and different?
As he explained, when he was younger, he didn't like that his friends sometimes teased him when they would see him outside drying his hair. 🙄
That is part of the reason why Sidak told himself that he’d cut it off when he grew older...
But now he considers it to be a part of his identity that he wouldn't want to change!

Of course, Sidak also has many other interests and hobbies besides taking care of his record-breaking locks. “Believe it or not but my entire personality is not based around my hair,” he said laughing. 🤣

- The longest hair on a teenager ever is 200 cm (6 ft 6 in). It belonged to fellow Indian Nilanshi Patel but, as you might know, she finally cut it in 2021 and donated it to a museum!
- There is no current holder for the record of longest hair on a living man... That means that Sidak could take the title once he turns 18, if no one else is verified to have longer hair before then. 👀
- The longest hair on a man ever belonged to Swami Pandarasannadhi from Madras, India, whose hair was reported in 1949 to measure 26 ft (7.9 m).
