Hi there, I’m Bella and I am the world’s youngest girl to publish a book! I love drawing and writing, so I made a book titled The Lost Cat, which tells the story of Snowy the cat. 🐱
It all started with...
A drawing! My daddy said I could make a book and a story came from the picture. 🎨
Mum says that I have a vivid imagination and that I started to write short stories when I was only 3 years old…
I don’t remember it, of course, but English and art are my favourite school subjects, so it makes sense. 🤓
It took me about 5 days to write the story and a few months for the pictures. It was really hard to finish, everything had to be perfect for printing!
I finally published the book when I was 5 years 211 days old.
About my book...
It’s about a cat called Snowy who goes outside at night on her own and then gets lost. We do have two cats in real life, Ginger and Minnie, but Snowy was all made up. 🐈
With this story I wanted to teach other kids not to go out on their own at night-time.
And you know what? The Lost Cat has already sold more than 1,000 copies!

What it's like being a record holder
My sister, mummy and daddy all say they are super proud of me. 🥹
Also, my teachers and my friends were very shocked and excited when they found out!
And me…?
I wanted to be an author and I had so much fun making this book, plus I’m really happy to be a record breaker. 🥳
Fun facts about me
Fun fact - my big sister Lacie-May made one of the drawings, and we had so much fun together. 🤩
When I’m not at school or writing a book, I like:
- drawing 🧑🎨
- learning 📖
- playing “teachers” with my sister or friends 👩🏫
- swimming 🏊♂️
- playing on my tablet 🧑💻
My advice to other young writers is: “Write a story that comes from you.”

My plans for the future
I’m not sure what I want to be when I grow up – possibly a writer, but I’m also thinking I’d like to be a doctor or a teacher as well! 👩⚕️
I’m only 7 so there is still time to decide, right?
But the great news is that a second book about Snowy the cat will be out very soon… 🥳
Also, I already have a third book in mind. 👀
But I can’t tell you what it’s about yet, you’ll just have to wait and see!
