Job title: Junior Editor

Based in: London, UK

Hi there, kids! I’m Caitlin Hyem, a Junior Editor at Guinness World Records. My job is to champion the amazing people who’ve achieved GWR titles and share their inspiring stories with you! I’ll also tell you all about our exciting under-16 record categories, so you can give them a go and become part of the GWR family.

What I write about: I spend most of my time working on the Guinness World Records book with the rest of the editorial team. We’re responsible for picking which records and photos feature in each edition. I also write about an endless list of topics for the kids’ website. One week I’ll be drooling over the largest food records, and the next I’ll be researching sea monsters from 150 million years ago!

Fun facts about me:

1) I went to my first concert when I was only 5 years old! My parents took me to see an indie-rock band called Kaiser Chiefs at Hull Ice Arena. It’ll come as no surprise to you that I don’t remember much about the gig, but I have been to over 100 since then to make up for it!

2) Favourite foods: As I’m from the coastal town of Scarborough in the UK, there’s a special place in my heart for fish and chips. But my favourite food of all time has to be... pies! I even claimed the nickname ‘The Queen of Pies’ after beating my dad in a speed pie-eating competition.

3) If I could break a record... I’d love to attempt the most concerts attended in 1 year. It would be the best year of my life! 🎶
