Emilio Flores Marquez was born on 8 August 1908, in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
He has witnessed the incredible progress of society throughout his life - from the rise of cars and aeroplanes through to space travel.

He is the second-oldest of 11 children born to Alberto Flores Melendez and Margarita Marquez-Garcia. That's a lot of brothers and sisters!
From a very young age, Emilio helped his father on their sugarcane farm. He was responsible for watering and loading the sugarcane onto wagons for transport.
As the first-born son in his family, he was also in charge of doing chores around the house and helping to care for all his siblings.

He loved being a farmer, and it became the way he supported his own wife and children.
Emilio was married for 75 years to the love of his life, Andrea Perez, who passed away in 2010. During their time together, they formed a beautiful family of four children.
He now has five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He currently lives in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, where his two children, Tirsa and “Millito” take care of him.
Known as "Don Millo", he still shows strength and good health at his grand old age. Though he has nearly lost all of his hearing, he continues to enjoy life.
His secret to a long, happy life is to be full of love and living without anger. 😘

Emilio received his official Guinness World Records title certificate in his home, where he celebrated his life-long achievement by taking photos with his family. 🥳️📷
