Jack Lewis most rebounder volleys split image

10-year-old Jack Lewis (UK) has some serious soccer skills! ️🤩

He has achieved the record for the most consecutive alternating football (soccer) rebounder volleys: 954

Not a day goes by without Jack kicking a ball. ️⚽️🦵️

He trains with Reading F.C. three days a week and plays matches every Sunday. Jack also trains with a personal coach twice a week and plays at school with his friends every day. 😃

At the start of the COVID-19 lockdowns across the UK, Jack's trainer Josh Yates introduced him to the rebounder.

Rebounders are used by footballers to improve their first touch and get better at using their weaker foot.

“I decided to break a world record because during the COVID lockdown I could not go anywhere. I wanted to inspire other children to take part in some fun physical activity and make my football club proud of me.” – Jack

To achieve this record, Jack had to take turns kicking the ball with each foot. Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot. As soon as the ball touches the floor, the record attempt is over! 😯

At first, Jack could only manage a few volleys, but he kept practicing for over an hour each day to improve his skills and keep fit. ️👦⚽️

After a few months, Jack was ready to attempt the record.

On 23 July 2021, he earned his Guinness World Records title after performing 954 rebounder volleys in a row, keeping the ball up for over eight minutes! 😲

His footballing idol is retired midfielder Andrés Iniesta (Spain). However, Jack and his family support Tottenham Hotspur, so his current favourite players are Harry Kane and Son Heung Min.

“Jack has trained so hard over lockdown and would love to inspire lots of other children to take part in some physical activity.” – Gary Lewis (Jack’s dad)

Jack says achieving a Guinness World Records title is “an amazing achievement, especially after having to spend so much time away from friends and teammates due to the COVID lockdown."

We’ll be keeping a close eye on Jack’s footballing career. With so much dedication and talent, we’re sure he’ll be playing for England in a few years! 🏆
