Tyler Philips (Florida, USA) can perform sick tricks on a pogo stick! 😎
Also known as Pogotyler, he bounced over five black cabs at the Olympic Park in London, UK, smashing the record for most consecutive cars jumped over on a pogo stick.
21-year-old Tyler is a pro pogoer and is part of the US XPOGO Team. 🏆
His amazing pogo style makes him look like a superhero as he flips and soars over cars in videos for his 220.7k TikTok fans.
It got us wondering...what is Tyler’s secret?
We asked him to share some insights on his epic pogo jumping! 🔥
How did you start pogo jumping?
I was about eleven years old, in middle school. 👦
I saw a video online of Xtreme Pogoing and I was like, “that is what I want to do”. I was very into skateboarding and flips growing up. 🛹️
Pogoing is a great mixture of the two, so I just instantly fell in love with it and I let it completely take over my life.
“I would have never thought I would jump five cabs in London. I did not expect to be here, and I was so thrilled.” – Tyler Phillips
How does it feel to get the record for jumping over five cars?
Great! I was so excited to come to London. And the fact that I was being able to do it first try makes me more excited.
It was very, very fun. 😎
Practicing and warming up, I was trying to stay out of my head, but once I was doing it I just turned my brain off. 🧠
Jumping cars can be scary! Did you ever feel nervous?
Training for this was way harder than the record. It made me a little nervous. 😨
But once I’ve seen them all lined up something just clicked. 💡
How did you train for this epic stunt?
I trained a little bit, not too much – jumping the cars was much easier.
Picturing cars in my head was much more difficult and scarier than doing the record.
To train, I would just lay down a pogo stick on the ground with the width of a car (1.6 metres for the cabs), and jump over that. 🥇
I had done one car before, but never multiple cars. 😛
When was the time you had most fun pogoing?
This one was great, it probably tops everything. I had been on a couple of TV shows, but this one was even better.
It was so fun!⭐
The combination of fun and a little bit of (controlled) danger makes it amazing.
Do you see more records in your future?
I want to attempt another record, sure! I want to try most front flips in a row.
And I would love to do this again, but with more cars! 🚓🚓🚓
"It was an absolute thrill to watch Tyler in action – the height he can reach and the skill and dexterity needed to achieve this record is immense." - Craig Glenday, Editor in Chief of Guinness World Records
