Most popular Pokémon

You might think the answer is obvious… and yet, Pikachu is NOT the most popular Pocket Monster! ⚡

In fact, he is only the 4th most popular Pokémon.

Instead, this Guinness World Records title belongs to Greninja, the blue, frog-like monster that can move with the speed and agility of a ninja.

But how was this decided?

Well, in June 2016, a General Election of all 720 Pokémon was hosted in Japan, where Greninja won 36,235 votes from the 562,386 Trainers who were asked the question!

First Pokémon

The Pokémon series and video game started in 1996… but which Pocket Monster was created first?

Again, Pikachu may be the one everybody knows, but the first Pokémon character ever designed was the rhino-like Rhydon! 🦏

Largest Pokémon card collection

Have you ever collected Pokémon cards?

If not, ask your parents or older siblings… they definitely did – and they might still have them somewhere!

Jens Ishøy Prehn and Per Ishøy Nielsen are two Danish brothers who own the world’s largest Pokémon card collection!

As they said: "The motto of Pokémon is 'Gotta catch 'em all' and we took that to heart, trying to get one of each card."

And with a collection of over 32,809 different cards, we bet they’re getting really close.

In 2016, Pokémon fan Lisa Courtney from the UK won the title with a collection of 17,127 Pokémon-related objects!

She collected them from all around the world and has travelled all the way to Japan, multiple times, with the specific goal of getting more memorabilia. 🌏
