This cute bunny record will make your day!🐰
Penelope turned into a star overnight when she set a record for the fastest time to complete 10 jumps by a rabbit on our Italian TV show Lo Show dei Record.
She is a very talented rabbit, who successfully jumped 10 obstacles in just 7.16 seconds after being trained for months by her beloved owner, 18-year-old Ole Roski from Germany.
What is more, Penelope is the first ever rabbit to set this record!
Two other rabbits tried before her but, unfortunately, none of them succeeded...
After all, setting a world record is a big deal! 🤩
But what is Ole and Penelope's story?
Ole has loved rabbits his whole life, and he got his first one in 2015. When he got Penelope as a Christmas present, he got to know her and quickly realized how fast and talented she is...
So he got the idea to train her and see if she could break a jumping world record! 🐇
After a few months of continuous training, Penelope was finally ready to show her skills in front of the whole world, at the set of the Italian show in Milan.
Penelope was very brave on stage, and at first, she was smashing her attempt, surpassing each one of the first 9 obstacles almost effortlessly...
Up until the very last one.
But when she got to the tenth obstacle, Penelope suddenly got scared. 😥
So she sat down with her little head on the floor and refused to move.
As Gerry Scotti, the show’s host, pointed out, the reason for that was that the last obstacle was “very close to the screen, which scared her off”.
What a nightmare!
But thankfully, Ole and Penelope were allowed two more tries.
Penelope kept us on our toes when, on her second try, she still couldn't do the very last jump.
The host even jokingly said that they should have brought a big carrot to leave at the end of the obstacles... that might motivate her. 🥕
On her third and final try, however, Penelope surprised us all by finally overcoming her fear and jumping over that final hurdle!
And that's the story of how Penelope became the first rabbit in the world to set this impressive jumping record. 🧡
