World’s shortest woman living, Jyoti Amge from India, recently turned 30 years old!

Happy birthday, Jyoti. 🥳

How did she celebrate, you ask?

With her friends and family, of course. ❤️

“Enjoying it a lot, having some fun as well as playing games,” she told us.

She also revealed that the best birthday present she’s ever received was a “surprise gift” on her 18th birthday, when the Guinness World Records team paid her a visit to officially confirm her as the world’s shortest woman.

What's the best present you have ever received? 🎁

Another time, she was given a LIFE-SIZE birthday cake: “A big birthday cake of my height was gifted to me surprisingly by my American friends,” she said.

So how about this year?

Right before her birthday, Jyoti told us that she hoped to receive a “new luxury car” from her mum and dad... fancy, right?! 👀

If you're wondering what Jyoti looked like as a kid, here are some super cute pictures of her:

Jyoti made many of her childhood dreams come true in her twenties!

For example, one of her favourite moments was featuring in the 4th season of the thriller series American Horror Story: Freak Show, which earned her the title of world’s shortest actress. 🤯

She even appeared as a guest participant on Bigg Boss, and Indian reality TV show!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

At age 15, Jyoti was awarded the title of shortest teenager living, measuring 61.95 cm (2 ft). Remarkably, at just 5.4 kg (12 lb), she weighed only 4 kg (9 lb) more than her birth weight.

So you might be wondering... how tall is Jyoti?

She stands at just 62.8 cm (24.7 in) tall!

How tall are you? 📏

Jyoti has also travelled to many different countries since being awarded her world record.

One of her favourite trips was in 2012, when she flew to London and met the world’s shortest man ever, Chandra Bahadur Dangi.

With a height of just 54.6 cm (21.5 in), Chandra was the first adult shorter than Jyoti that she’d ever met! 😮

"When I met the shortest man in the world and got to know him, I felt very happy," Jyoti commented. "I felt more included and more satisfied that there is somebody like me too."

A year later, Jyoti jetted off to New York City, where she was shown around by Guinness World Records Adjudicator Mike Janela... ✈️

“She may be the shortest living woman, but Jyoti Amge is one of the biggest personalities we have in the Guinness World Records universe,” Mike commented after meeting her in person.

Indeed, Jyoti has a strong, confident personality! 💪🏽

And of course, when in New York City, Jyoti was the centre of attention wherever she went.

She told us: “I got excited, because when people see me and recognize me, they all want to take a photograph with me.”

In 2018, Jyoti even travelled to Egypt to meet the world’s tallest man living, Sultan Kösen from Türkiye. At a height of 251 cm (8 ft 2.8 in), Sultan is 4 TIMES taller than Jyoti! 🤩

After having met both Chandra and Sultan, Jyoti said: "I never knew people could be so oddly different. After meeting them I felt happy that there were others like me too."

More recently, Jyoti travelled to Milan, Italy, to appear on our TV talent show, Lo Show Dei Record. Jyoti had also been on the show over 10 years ago, back in 2012!

Honestly, where HASN'T she been?! 🌍

But apparently, Jyoti is not finished visiting every place on her bucket list: “I want to make a visit to the UK Guinness World Records office as well as the USA in 2024,” she said.

Where would YOU like to travel?

With such exciting plans for the upcoming year, we’ve no doubt that Jyoti’s thirties will be full of even more fun than her twenties! 🎉
