Isn’t that amazing?! 🤯
But let’s get to know the boys a little bit…
Gbenga is an ambitious teenager with big dreams, and he says that breaking a world record is “the greatest thing that has happened in his life.”
He loves the creativity that skipping offers, from dancing to freestyling with his rope!
What is your favourite sport?
He told us that his family and friends are proud of his accomplishments – though they were initially surprised, since they didn’t know that he had been training for a record!
Can you imagine training for months to break a world record without telling anyone, only to surprise them once you’ve achieved your goal? 😎
Dubem is also truly passionate about rope skipping.
"What I love most about rope skipping is the fun," he explained.
"You can go at your own pace, invent new skills, and challenge anyone, regardless of age. I love it."
Thinking about his achievement, he told us:
“Even when I’m old, I can open the book, show my grandchildren and say, ‘Look at me when I was young. I achieved a Guinness World Records title.’ It’s a lifetime honour for me.”
That sounds awesome. 🥹
Last but not least, Philip is not only a super talented skipping champ, but also a passionate dancer! 🕺🏽
In his free time, the teenager also loves playing baseball and aims to continue his studies to become a math teacher.
Do you have any of the same hobbies?
The 3 teens made their families, friends and country proud – but most importantly, they made themselves proud. ❤️
Congratulations, boys, and welcome to the Guinness World Records family!
Now it’s YOUR turn!
Feel inspired?
What if you could also break a skipping world record yourself, and become the next rope skip champ? 👀
There is a record title for people under 16 years old, waiting for you to claim it:
So if you think you’ve got what it takes, grab a jump rope and start practising!
Good luck. 🍀
