This teen artist created the world’s longest flip book

Are you artsy? 👩🎨
Max Budgen in Petersfield, Hampshire, UK, has a very special artistic talent – he can draw amazing flip books!
🔎 A flip book is a small book with pictures that change slightly on each page, and when you flip the pages quickly, the pictures look like they are moving, just like a cartoon!
And now he even holds the world record for the most pages in a hand-drawn flip book – 1,300. 🤯
Max, who is a 17-year-old student, told us:
“The record attempt itself took place over a number of days. I’d sit down on my desk, at school, on trains and I’d draw.”
Of course, breaking the record was not an easy feat…
“Some of the toughest moments that I encountered whilst attempting this record, I think is the fact that flip books usually are meant to be short, snappy and interesting narratives.
“By the time I was on page 500 or so, I was getting rather bored and running out of ideas. But, nevertheless, I reminded myself that world records aren’t meant to be easy. So I persevered and carried on.”
You should always try your best to make your dreams come true. ❤️
Max told us that, in his experience, it truly is about the journey and not the destination.
“Instead of feeling an intense burst of emotion on final completion of the project, I think I felt a sense of pride at key milestones throughout. For example, I’d never gone beyond 300 pages before, so that was definitely a moment for me.
“And page 1,000 was pretty incredible, because I’d never thought I’d make it that far.”

It took Max over 3 weeks of hard work to finish his record-breaking project.
What an inspiration. 💪
His advice to kids and teens like him who want to break a record is…
“If you want to be a record holder before you’re an adult, you have to be tenacious. Commitment is vital, especially when it comes to something like this.”
“I also think a sense of humour helped me along the way quite a bit, especially seeing the bright side when things went terribly wrong.”
Do you think you’ve got what it takes to become a record breaker?
