Hana Rezaei from Tehran, Iran, made her 6th birthday super special by setting a Guinness World Records title.

On 31 May 2025, she achieved the longest time to spin a spinning top (Under 16s) - 36.55 seconds!

That’s so impressive!

Fun fact – the adult version of this record has remained unbreakable since 2006, when Ashrita Furman kept a top spinning for 7 hours 1 minute 14 seconds!

Maybe one day Hana will be the person to beat Ashrita’s record…

Hana decided to attempt this GWR title after discovering our Under-16s records, which are exclusively for kids.

No adults allowed!

She told GWR: “My dad showed me the records for kids: I like those ones the best.

“I sometimes try to do them myself because they look fun and cool.”

So, what’s Hana’s No.1 tip to master the spinning top?

“I think the secret is not giving up,” she revealed. “Lots of times, my top didn’t spin, but I kept trying until I learned how to make it spin properly.”

Practice makes progress!

Once Hana’s world record had been verified, she took her official GWR certificate into school where they had a celebration.

“It feels really nice,” she said. “I love being part of the Guinness World Records family!”

If you would like to become a record holder like Hana, this is her advice…

“Definitely try! When you succeed, you feel really great - like a real champion.”

Now Hana has claimed 1 GWR title, she’s got the record-breaking bug and wants to attempt many more.

“I want to set at least 5 more records by the end of 2026,” she shared.

“I’m training for the most burpees in 30 seconds (Under 16s).”

Congratulations, Hana, you are Officially Amazing!
