Hey! I’m Max and I am a fashion designer. I have my own online store where I make and sell everything from kaftans and charms to pyjamas and puffers, and I’ve even made custom clothes for celebrities! I have 2 world records – let’s talk about them…

How it all started…

I have been designing, sewing and selling clothes all around the world since I was 4. It all started when, one day, I announced to my mum and dad that I was a “dressmaker” and just started sewing until I got better and better.

I decided to sew a frock for my sister, and she loved it!

I learned all the basics of sewing from my mum, and in 2021 I finally took up formal classes.

I sometimes sew in the morning, then once I’ve finished school, I sew again – I just love it so much!

I take inspiration from everything, everywhere, but especially on holidays and beach trips.

Breaking 2 world records

I have not 1, but 2 WORLD RECORDS!

  • Youngest runway show designer, when I was 7 years and 266 days old
  • Youngest runway show designer at Paris Fashion Week, when I was 10 years and 6 days old

I love sustainability in fashion and showing people how beautiful deadstock materials can become instead of going into landfill. It’s better for our environment!

For example, my Uncle Eddy sent me some coffee-bean bags from his company Groundwork Coffee and I thought, “Ooh, I could make something out of this!” and that’s how I created my Grounds for Change line.

That earned me the bronze IDA Design Award in Women’s Haute Couture!

I think that I can be a full-time fashion designer. I’m not afraid of a little hard work.

Preparing for a fashion show

It takes a lot of work, you know. It’s a lot of people - my mum, models, the production manager, a bunch of other managers…

It is no piece of cake!

The production companies provide the models, and I am as involved in hair and make up as they will let me. It’s important that their looks go with my dresses. Usually I like the hair up so you can see the clothes.

So here is what I did: first I selected my models, I selected which dresses they’re going to wear, then I put the dresses in order, so which one is going to come out first, second etc.

It was really fun!

More about me

Some of my favourite colours are burgundy, gold and butter yellow, and my favourite fabrics are Italian silk, chiffon, organza and anything floofy…

Since getting started in fashion, I have had an interview with People magazine, have been on the show Good Morning America and have even made clothes for multiple celebrities, so I’m living the dream!

My biggest supporters are my mum and Fern Mallis who is my “fashion godmother”. She developed New York Fashion Week as we know it today.

She’s a legend!

I want to encourage people to use recycled materials! It’s better for our environment.
