Hey, I’m Mia and I love skateboarding! In June 2024, I was lucky enough to travel across the globe and compete in a world-famous action sports tournament called X Games. I made history as the event’s youngest athlete, setting 3 world records AND winning a gold medal! 🛹

My skateboarding journey...
I got my first skateboard as a Christmas present in 2019 when I was 5 years old.
It had a unicorn on it with light-up wheels – it was so cool! 🦄
My older sister and I had a few skateboarding lessons to begin with, but since then, I’ve just taught myself.
When I find a trick that I’d like to learn, I watch videos of people doing it and then I just give it a go. 🛹
Some things take a really long time, but others come naturally.
I skate every day that I can.
It allows me to hang out with my friends; smashing our goals together is the best feeling! 💗
In 2024, I received a wildcard to attend X Games in California, USA. This is when an athlete is allowed to enter a competition without qualifying for it.
Aged 9 years 269 days, I set 3 world records:
- Youngest X Games athlete (female)
- Youngest X Games medallist (female)
- Youngest X Games gold medallist (female).
Afterwards, I celebrated in the best way possible… by eating lots of ice cream! 🍨
My proudest moment so far has to be landing a 720 (performing 2 full 360-degree rotations in the air after launching off a ramp) in front of my hero, Tony Hawk, who actually invented the trick in 1985. He was cheering for me on the side. I’d only landed 2 720s before that moment, so to land it clean in a complete run was special!

Becoming a comic-book hero
I appeared in Guinness World Records 2026 as the hero of my very own comic-book strip.
This illustration was designed by Inko Ai Takita.
In 10 years, I definitely hope to have skated in the Olympics! I also want to be a paramedic and a teacher. Hopefully, I can do all 3!
