Hey, I’m Noah and I’m a professional programmer! I love computers, robots and drones, and I’m fluent in various programming languages. Even though I’m still a kid, I can make computer programs that are useful to big companies!

My record-breaking journey...

I’ve always been interested in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM)!

I bought lots of books to support my interest, and I started with building shapes and circuits. Then I bought a micro:bit circuit kit so I could really become an expert.

I just like how you get to explore and look forward to inventing something!

By the age of 6, I had learned the C++ language – a way of telling devices, like your computer, what to do.

So I began programming computers to help with mathematical calculations and, at the age of 8 years and 307 days, I became the world’s youngest computer programmer after an independent firm published one of my programs!

Now I’m also working on robots and drones…

Being a programmer

Honestly, it’s not as hard as it sounds.

You just need to learn the basics of coding and then the possibilities are endless! You can really let your imagination flow and get creative, which I love.

My number 1 tip is to learn a programming language [e.g., C++, Python] and, when you get things wrong, keep trying and trying again until you fully debug [fix] the program.

Practice makes perfect!

So far, I have made over 15 computer programs, 8 of which used C++ and Python codes.

[After achieving my world record] I had a really big party with my family! It was so much fun.

Fun facts about me

When I was 7, I joined the high IQ society, Mensa, after achieving an IQ score in the 99.9th percentile – that means I’m in the top 0.1% of the population!

When I’m not programming, I like to:

  • Go on long walks
  • Play the piano
  • Build LEGO® sets

Do you have any of the same hobbies?

When I grow up, I want to be a scientist and go on the International Space Station! That would be a dream come true.
