The Harlem Globetrotters are BACK! đđÂ
The basketball team once again joined in with celebrating Guinness World Records Day and managed to break three records, bringing their total to 24! đ˛
Throughout the lockdowns this year, the players spent their time practising their skills to be able to attempt and break records for Guinness World Records Day. Â
The attempts took place at a sports complex, meaning there was plenty of space to social distance. Â
Despite the difficulties that have come with this year, the Harlem Globetrotters want to encourage fun and entertainment, especially with the exciting trick shots the players can perform.
Below are the records that the Globetrotters achieved đđ
The farthest behind-the-back basketball shot is 13.86 m (45 ft 6 in) and was achieved by Rochelle âWhamâ Middleton. Â
This record was broken in 2019 by William âBullâ Bullard with a distance of 12.97 m (42 ft 6.5 in), but Rochelle âWhamâ Middleton took the title from his teammate!Â
The highest throw and catch of a spinning basketball is 6.12 m (20 ft 1 in), and was achieved by Deandre âDragonâ Taylor. Â
The third and final record broken by the Globetrotters was the most bounced basketball figure eight moves in one minute broken by Lucius âToo Tallâ Winston with an incredible 62.
The Harlem Globetrotters have been taking part in Guinness World Records Day since 2013, so we can't wait to see what they attempt next year! đ
