Dinosaurs may have gone extinct 66 million years ago, but here’s your chance to bring them back to life! 😱😄
Six roar-some reptiles are featured in the Guinness World Records 2022 book, where you can reanimate them using Augmented Reality on your phone or tablet.
You can try it out right here on the Spinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops! Here's how:
Measuring around 17 m (56 ft) long and weighing 7-9 tonnes, Spinosaurus was bigger than the T.rex! 😲
Spinosaurus most likely lived both on land and in water. It was good at catching fish and roamed the rivers of northern Africa, where the Sahara desert now lies.
Its name refers to the huge ‘sail’ coming out of its back, which is made of spike-shaped bones joined together by skin.
The bite of a T.rex is three times more powerful than a lion’s bite! 🦁
T.rex had around 60 teeth, which were around 20 cm (8 in) long. They were specialized for crunching through the bones of smaller dinosaurs. 🦴️😋
T.rex probably hunted Hadrosaurs and Triceratops. They also scavenged (stealing food from smaller predators who can’t fight back). 🦖
Triceratops is the most well-known of the ceratopsian dinosaurs.
Ceratopsians were herbivorous (plant-eating) dinosaurs with beaks. They grazed in large herds together. 🌱🌿
Weighing over 14 tonnes, Triceratops was heavier than three African elephants! 🐘🐘🐘
