Don’t let her name fool you, Baby Jane is far from being a baby. 👶
In fact, Baby Jane is the oldest pig in captivity ever, at the age of 23 years 77 days (as verified on 19 April 2021).
She’s old enough to be Peppa Pig’s grandma! 🐷
Born on 1 February 1998, she was raised by her owners Patrick Cunningham and Stan Coffman (USA) and still lives with them today in Mundelein, Illinois, USA.
Baby Jane is an indoor pig. She loves putting her trotters up and taking it easy. 😎
She only goes outside to play and poop! 💩
Baby Jane can usually be found snoozing on the couch or on her owners’ bed. 😴🛌
"In our bed, she rests her head on our pillows and sprawls out, leaving little space for us. She’s literally a bed hog."
Sometimes, caring for apig can be a test of your patience– and your bedding!
Baby Jane was adopted from a rescue in Virginia. Patrick brought her home when she was just 8 weeks old.
Patrick and Stan have two sons, Justin (12) and Marchese (11). Another pot-bellied pig, named Lucy, completes the family.
Did you know? 🧐
Pot-bellied pigs have an average lifespan of 15-18 years. 🐖
It took Baby Jane a long time to become friends with Lucy. Sharing her house with another female pig was hard!
However, in the last few years Baby Jane and Lucy have become best friends. They love hanging out with each other all the time. 🐷🐷
Lucy is also an older pig and will be celebrating her 17th birthday this September. 🥳️
Baby Jane enjoys a stress-free life. All the family help take care of her each day.
Her normal daily routine is:
"In Baby Jane’s younger years, we were in another room and noticed it had gotten suspiciously quiet. When we went to check on her, we found Baby Jane laying on the comforter in a pile of feathers. Some floating throughout the room while others were sticking to her snout. She loved to shred blankets."
Baby Jane is usually very well behaved now, but sometimes still throws tantrums. 😡
When she doesn’t get her way, she might scream, or knock something over. One time when she was mad, Baby Jane even pooped in Lucy’s bed. 💩
When Baby Jane was younger, she was more active. She liked to sunbathe outside and eat the grass. 🌞
In her old age, she walks a bit slower and sometimes needs a little help when climbing stairs.
Having the world’s oldest pig also affects Patrick and Stan’s vacation plans because they aren’t comfortable being away from Baby Jane any more.
The solution? Buying an RV so that all the family (pigs included) can go on trips together! 🚐😍

Pigs use their snout to find food in the ground and sense the world around them. 🐽
"Baby Jane is a well-traveled pig. Her favorite place is Key West. She loves the beach and having her pictures taken at the southernmost point. She loves to travel."
After more than 20 years together, Patrick, Stan and Baby Jane have shared so many wonderful memories. 😃
Baby Jane has met Santa, travelled around the country in an RV, and even starred in a drag show alongside drag queen Mary Ann Brandt. Quite a lot for one pig to achieve in her lifetime!
Pigs are very intelligent animals, and Baby Jane is no different. She’s very caring and can tell when her anyone is her family is upset. She loves them all very much. ❤️
Patrick and Stan were so happy when they found out Baby Jane’s record was confirmed. 😄
"It’s awesome to tell people we have the world’s oldest pig. We’re just thankful for every day we have with her. Every day we get to have her and show her we love her and take care of her is so special to us."
Baby Jane loves travelling, eating and sleeping, but most of all she loves her family. 👨👨👦👦🐷🐷
We hope Baby Jane enjoys many more years of pigging out!
