For people who live in the northern part of the globe 🌎, everyone’s favourite season is here… summer!
If you go to school, that means it is almost time for a well-deserved break.
You can spend all day playing outside, enjoying the nice weather along with a delicious ice cream or ice lolly. 🤤
And, if you want to achieve something Officially Amazing this summer, here’s an idea…
Why not break a world record?!
Click here to find a list of records you could attempt – they are all made for young people under 16 years of age, and you’re guaranteed to have fun doing them!
If you need some inspiration, here are some epic summer records to get you in the mood. 👇
For many of us, summer has not officially begun until we’ve had our first ice cream of the year. 🍦
To celebrate the company’s 100-year anniversary, Kemps LLC in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, USA created the world’s largest scoop of ice cream weighing 1,365.31 kg (3,010 lb).
It was delicious, contained approximately 733 containers of ice-cream, and was strawberry flavoured.
From the world’s largest scoop of ice cream, to the world’s largest ice cream scoop.
Because how else would you serve the ice cream? 😂
The scoop in question is 1.95 m (6 ft 4.7 in) long and was achieved by Dimitri Panciera in Forno di Zoldo, Italy. It has a fully functioning mechanism to eject the ice cream.
Who doesn’t love waterslides?! 💦
The world’s longest inflatable waterslide measures 601.98 m (1,975 ft) and was created by Live More Awesome, in New Zealand.
To put this into perspective, it takes approximately 7.5 minutes to walk this length. 😮
Would you get on that waterslide?
When you find yourself on a sandy beach, building a sandcastle is a must.
It is fun, creative, and you can even do little contests with your friends or siblings, challenging each other to make the largest or tallest sandcastle.
However, at the height of 21.16 m (69 ft 5 in), the world’s tallest sandcastle is beyond compare.
This jaw-dropping build looks less like a sandcastle and more like a fairy-tale castle! 🏰
What’s better than an ice lolly treat on a hot summer day? 🥵
The world’s largest ice lolly (popsicle) was made by Jan van den Berg in the Netherlands, and it weighs… 9,081 kg (20,020 lb)!
That’s as heavy as a hippo. 🦛
Water balloon fights are a fun summer activity, especially if you have a garden.
You need to be careful and not get carried away with competitiveness though, because it can get quite crazy. 🤪
The world’s largest water balloon fight consisted of 8,957 participants and was achieved by the Christian Student Fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, USA…
Would you dare to take part in this fight?!
We hope you enjoyed these records, and wish you a fun, adventurous summer. 😎
