There are some world records that everyone knows about…
And then, there are some other records, a little less known, but that definitely deserve their own place in the spotlight!
They are as bizarre as they are unique, and we think that’s what makes them cool. 😎
The people who set or broke them either have a peculiar passion, or a very distinct talent.
Let’s get to know them…
Richard Scott, a dad-of-three from the UK, claimed this record after spending 36 hours and 32 minutes by going back and forth on a swing set!
Even though he loved embracing his inner child, he informed us that it wasn’t nearly as easy as he thought it would be…
It did have a happy ending though, as not only did he earn the title, but he also met his now-girlfriend while he was… swinging for glory. ❤️
Johan Espenkrona likes to show off his powerlifting skills by hurling… kitchen appliances. 😵💫
So that’s exactly what he did in 2022, when he threw a washing machine a distance of 4.45 m (14 ft 7 in) – that’s about as long as a giraffe. 🦒
Most people don’t have the strength to lift a washing machine, let alone throw it a record-breaking distance… well done, Johan!
You may remember Joel Strasser, a serial record breaker who’s known for gaining his record titles by decorating his beard with various objects. 🎅🏼
His latest record is for the most candy canes in a beard, where he achieved the astounding total of 187.
That is one unusual record if we’ve ever seen one!
Some of his other records include:
Another serial record breaker, Anthony Kelly, proved he had a… head for hats, by wearing a 107.5-cm-tall (3-ft 6-in) stack of them! 🤠
Anthony has a wide range of records under his belt – for example, he’s also the title holder for the most tennis balls caught blindfolded, which is 11. 🥎
If you enjoyed reading about all these unusual records, now it’s time to break YOURS!
Follow in Anthony’s footsteps, and break the under-16 record title for most hats balanced on the head in one minute. 🎩 👒
All you need to attempt this record is a stopwatch and as many hats as you can find.
Stay focused and remember, you're not just stacking hats, you're stacking success!
