Every year, on 19 November, we celebrate World Toilet Day!

It may sound silly at first but, hey, toilets are truly the most important part of any house – they take away our waste so we can live clean, healthy, and nice-smelling lives!

So let’s take a moment to look at these record-breaking feats…

And if you stick around until the end, you’ll find out how YOU can break a record this World Toilet Day!

Fastest motorized toilet

If you’ve ever found yourself bursting for a pee and having to rush to the toilet…

Well, this toilet can rush to you instead!

The fastest motorized toilet is the HAWC (Highly Advanced Water Closet) Mk1, which can reach a speed of 70.5 mph (113.5 km/hr). It was built by attaching a toilet and cistern to a go-kart frame and using an engine to power it.

There is even a toilet brush as a gear stick!

Largest animal poop paper making lesson

Did you know you can make paper out of PANDA POOP?!

In fact, 369 Chinese schoolkids have set a record for the largest animal faeces paper making lesson... yes, really.

An adult panda can produce more than 10 kg (22 lb) of faeces per day – that weighs MORE than the largest bowling ball you will find at the alley.

So they used some of it to make this unique paper...

Led by Mr Yip, an expert on panda poo, the students began the lesson by putting on rubber gloves and shredding recycled waste paper.

Ordinarily, the shredded paper would then be soaked for 8 hours, but to expedite the lesson, the students were given pre-soaked paper pulp for the next step.

The panda poo, which had been sterilized at 120°C, was mixed with the paper pulp, poured into a plastic tray, then mixed with water.

After stirring the pulp by hand, students used sieves to extract the fibre sediment, which was used to form the recycled paper.

A roller was then used to press away any excess water, before the sieve was inverted to tip out the finished product.

Last step? The students decorated their papers however they liked before leaving them to dry!

And there you go – a special, environmentally friendly paper made out of poop is ready!

Would you use this paper?

Poozeum, the museum of fossilized poo

If you say you don't like this museum, then you must be a real party pooper!

The owner of the world’s largest collection of coprolites (= fossilized poo) – over 8,000 pieces – has quit his job to make his dream come true by opening his very own... poo museum.

George Frandsen from USA is super excited to have finally opened the doors to the amazing Poozeum in Williams, Arizona.

Visitors can see George’s entire record-breaking collection, which even includes dinosaur poo

Fun fact: George also owns the largest coprolite from a carnivore – a specimen called “Barnum” that measures 67.5 cm (2 ft 2.5 in) long!

The Poozeum is mostly known as “the world’s premier dinosaur poop museum and gift shop” – would you visit it?

Capybaras eat their own poo

Have you ever seen a capybara?

They are adorable, big and friendly, they love swimming and they always hang out with their friends in large groups!

They’re also record-breaking, being the largest rodents on earth – they can easily reach the size of a Labrador dog!

But do they really eat their own… poo?!

Yes, they do – in fact, rats and guinea pigs do it too (so there's really no reason for them to celebrate World Toilet Day, ha!).

Coprophagy, or eating poo, helps them digest food better in their tummies and make sure they get all the good stuff out of their food – so don’t judge, okay?
