Have you ever tried gymnastics?

In this sport, athletes use their strength, balance, and flexibility to perform cool moves like flips, jumps, and spins on different equipment such as bars.

Kynlee Heiman from USA, also known as “Kynlee the Great”, is a super-talented girl who just broke a world record with her skills!

On 25 February, she rotated 18 TIMES around the bar, achieving the most gymnastic bar toe-to-hand movements in 30 seconds (female).

She even made it into our latest book, Guinness World Records 2026, which is out now!

Kynlee truly loves what she does, and she couldn’t be happier.

“I love every time I flip, it makes me feel like I’m flying,” she told us. “And I just love doing gymnastics!”

She started the sport 4 years ago and she’s very dedicated to it.

So, what does a day in her life look like?

Well, on training days Kynlee wakes up at 5:30 a.m. because her gym is a 2-hour drive away – there, she spends almost the entire day stretching, flipping, twisting, and springing between her routines on the bars and the mat!

Sounds hard, but also quite fun, right?

According to her mum: “Kynlee’s personality has always been very over-the-top, but she knows how to focus and when to focus.

“And it’s so fun to see that it’s all her… on days you think she’s not going to want to do it, she does it… you can’t stop her. She just loves it.”

So when you truly care about something, keep showing up and trying your best – it can take you farther than you think!

So how did she come up with the idea of breaking a world record?

According to her family, Kynlee was inspired after spending hours scouring the pages of the Guinness World Records books with her brothers.

“It’s the best book in the world!” she said.

Do you own any of our books? As you read through those pages, you might find a record you want to break and earn a place in them, just like she did!

She’s very confident in her skills, and she convinced her coach Alex Carson to help her prepare for the record during their usual training sessions.

“Her determination is incredible,” Alex told us. “[…] She’s really good at asking questions, and getting feedback, accepting feedback, and accepting constructive criticism, and making changes that need to be made – quite rapidly.”

Listening to feedback is important because it teaches you how to improve and hone your skills.

So what happened on the day of her record attempt?

“My successful record attempt was so good, I was not nervous at all, I was so excited,” Kynlee said. “Me and my coach have worked a LOT on strap, so I was not nervous at all.”

Confidence is key, especially when you’ve worked so hard on something!

And that’s how she ended up taking the title for the gymnastics feat that even most grown-ups couldn’t pull off!

She was so excited: “It felt so amazing, it was so cool, because I’ve always wanted to do that, and now I’ve done it, so I’m so excited and so happy!”

If you could break any record in the world, which one would you choose?

In the future, who knows where Kynlee will end up – she might win an Olympic medal, or she might end up doing something completely different from gymnastics!

Whatever she chooses, as long as she applies her same work ethic and enthusiasm that she has for gymnastics, we’re sure she’ll end up a star.

“I think I can [get to the Olympics] if I keep working hard and keep loving the sport,” she confessed. “But definitely I will always keep loving it. And definitely keep working hard, and I definitely think I can do it one day.”

Congratulations, Kynlee, you are Officially Amazing!
