Josef Kardinal’s home in Nuremberg, Germany, is like a magical winter wonderland!

That’s because it is filled with the most beautiful, record-breaking collection of snow globes.

Josef first broke the world record for largest collection of snow globes back in 2002 (before you were even born!) when he had 6,100 of them.

And how many does he have now, you ask?

11,000 – yes you read that right, ELEVEN THOUSAND amazing snow globes!

So of course we just had to see them in person…

Inviting us into his home, Josef took Guinness World Records Adjudicator Emma Salt on a tour of his unique collection.

WOW!

He even showed us how he refills his snow globes to keep them all looking their best and unboxed a brand new piece of his collection in front of us.

The dazzling addition was in the shape of the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express, and Josef was super excited to be able to add it to the collection.

Do you collect anything?

Josef began collecting in 1984 after he received a single snow globe as a gift – that’s over 40 YEARS ago!

Friends continued to buy them for him and then he started buying more for himself…

So, as he travelled the world with his wife, he was always on the lookout for new and unique snow globes, saying she always knew they wouldn’t be able to relax until they found the perfect one to bring home.

Talk about dedication!

His collection ranges from tiiiny snow globes like a pin you can attach to your clothing to HUGE ones like this lamppost that stands taller than he does:

Some of the more unique snow globes he has are one in the shape of a Coca-Cola telephone, one shaped like a sinking Titanic, and one shaped like a helicopter being flown by Santa Claus himself.

Pretty cool, right?! Have a look:

He also has many globes dedicated to films like Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings!

A lot of his globes are rare, limited-edition creations that would be hard to find today.

So why does Josef love snow globes so much?

“I love the romance of snow globes and how beautiful they are when you shake them up and the snow falls down.”

Do you agree?

Perhaps the coolest snow globe in his collection is one of HIS OWN HOUSE!

Here it is:

And here’s a fun fact about Josef – even though he loves snow globes so much, he isn’t a massive fan of the cold…

Luckily, they don’t get much of it in Nuremberg where he lives, so the only snow he sees is in his snow globes!

Josef’s home is filled with snow globes from all around the world, and says he doesn’t have a lot of room left to let his collection keep growing.

Emma said: “Josef is running out of space and he reckons the maximum amount of snow globes he can fit in his house is 12,000, so there’s not that many left to collect.”

The basement of his home is basically a snow globe museum, and people who visit love to see it!

Josef said people are always surprised when they see his entire collection, as they’re never expecting it to be as big as it is.

He added that after leaving his home, people begin to notice snow globes everywhere they go…

How about you? Will you be noticing snow globes everywhere from now on?

Congratulations, Josef, you are Officially Amazing!
