Hair is beautiful whether it’s long, short, curly, straight or wild – but sometimes, it can even be record breaking!
These teenagers have hair so amazing, it’s in the history books.
The Guinness World Records 2026 book, which is out now, features a special ‘Amazing Teens’ chapter, all filled with youngsters who earned a world record title before they were even grown-ups.
Today, we’ll take a look specifically at those who broke records with their show-stopping hair💇♀️

Longest hair on a teenager (male)
Reuben Looks Twice Jr from USA has the longest hair on a male teenager, measuring an incredible 161 cm (5 ft 3.3 in) – his hair is probably longer than your height! 😂
At just 17, he is hoping that his record-breaking locks will make his family and tribe proud, and he’ll qualify for the adult record once he turns 18.
Reuben hasn’t had a haircut since he was almost 2 years old. 😯
How often do you cut your hair?
When he was younger, he was scared of clippers, so his parents let his hair grow… and, well, it’s been growing ever since!
His hair-care routine takes about 20 minutes to wash and an hour to dry.

“[Having this record] inspires others to grow their hair. But it does get stuck in car doors and caught on shower knobs!”, Reuben told us.
For Reuben, though, long hair is also deeply meaningful:
“The Lakota people traditionally have long hair. It’s part of our Nagi (“spirit”). It’s who I am. I feel proud to represent my family and the Lakota Nation.”
Longest hair on a teenager EVER
Back in 2018, when Nilanshi Patel from India was 16, she broke the record for the longest hair on a teenager – but she didn’t stop there.
Her beautiful hair kept on growing and, just before she turned 18, it reached 200 cm (6 ft 6.7 in) earning her the record of longest hair on a teenager EVER.
But here’s an unexpected turn of events…
The following year, Nilashi decided to cut it off and donate it to a museum!
Now THAT is iconic. 💅
Largest afro on a teenager EVER
From long hair to… BIG hair!
At just 13 years old, Amir Manuel Menendez from USA made history with his cool afro. 😎
When it was measured in Anaheim, California, it reached a height of 24.83 cm (9.77 in) and had an incredible circumference of 226 cm (7 ft 5 in).
His amazing hairstyle earned him both the teen and overall records in this category, which he held until the end of 2023…
When he decided it was time for a trim. 😉
Hairiest face on a person (male)
And lastly, this facial hair record broken by a teenager deserves some serious spotlight too!
Lalit Patidar from India was 18 years old when he earned the record title thanks to this extremely rare syndrome…
The condition is called hypertrichosis, also known as werewolf syndrome, which causes an unusual amount of hair to grow.
Almost his entire face is covered in hair – he has 201.72 hairs per square centimetre!
Lalit is 1 of only around 50 known people in the entire world to have this syndrome since the beginning of time, so…
You could definitely say he’s a special guy. 😎
