This is Hope, the donkey with the world’s longest ears!
Meet Hope, an adorable grey donkey from Byron, Georgia, USA who holds the Guinness World Records title for the longest ears on a living donkey.
The 15-year-old lives at Frost Farm after being rescued by Hannah Frost, who took very good care of her. When she was found she was very weak but, after months of love, good food, and medicine, she recovered and is now a happy and healthy donkey!
That’s when her vet noticed how amazingly long her ears are…

How long, you ask?
Well, they measure in at an incredible 1 ft 3 in (40.20 cm). That’s longer than a Guinness World Records book!
To make sure that Hope could officially take the record, on 22 December last year Hannah invited 3 independent witnesses and a veterinarian to come out and take measurements of her cute, fuzzy ears.
As Hannah soothed the excited donkey, veterinarian Julia Smith used a measuring tape to determine the distance between the base of the skull and the fluttering tips of the cartilage – confirming Hope’s record-breaking measurement.
WOW!
Look how long her ears are next to Julia’s arm!

And check them out next to her fingers:

And with her impressive ears, we’re sure that it wasn’t hard for Hope to hear the good news!
Hannah said that she wants people to learn about Hope and about how donkeys deserve to be treated – with love, respect and proper care.
“So I figured getting an official Guinness World Records title might do that,” she commented.

At the farm, the Frost family helps animals heal and takes care of the endangered Mammoth Jackstock donkeys, a special kind of donkey that is in danger of disappearing.
Hope’s amazing recovery inspired everyone who met her!

So, congratulations, Hope and Hannah, you are Officially Amazing.
