Check out the LARGEST blanket fort in the world!
Who doesn’t love building blanket forts to hide, play or relax in?
This record-breaking blanket fort is unlike anything else you’ve ever seen – it’s as big as 2 tennis courts!
Spanning a mind-blowing 14,103.2 sq ft (1,310.2 sq m), the massive structure stretched across 2 large gymnasiums and a hallway at the Desert Breeze Community Center, hosting HUNDREDS of foster care children from Nevada, USA.
Of course, it officially became the world’s largest blanket fort – isn’t it incredible?

Designed and engineered by high school students from West Career and Technical Academy in Clark County, the project was an idea of County Commissioner Justin Jones.
He said he loves building blanket forts with his kids, so he thought that the kids in the local foster care system at Foster Kinship might enjoy it too!

After sheets and blankets were donated by some local hotels, helpers brought Michael’s vision to life in the community centre’s gym, using grey plastic pipes as supports for the blankets.
For the attempt to be valid, the entire creation couldn’t leave any gaps larger than 1 inch.
Justin’s grandma had even sewn some blankets for him to use for the fort!
What an icon.

So what happened after the record was made official?
Well, that’s when the real fun began! The kids rushed in to play under the maze made of bedsheets, and they had the best time ever.
“This is the coolest thing we have ever done!” the organizers joyfully said, once they claimed the title.
“This proves that we can accomplish great things when we work together!”
We couldn’t agree more.
So go ahead, grab your friends and see if you can make a blanket fort as large as your living room!

And congratulations, Clark County, you are Officially Amazing!
