Have you ever seen someone fly through the air like this? 😲

To celebrate Guinness World Records Day 2021, pro gymnast Ashley Watson (UK) broke his own record for the farthest back flip between two horizontal bars.

It seemed like an impossible task, but Ash somehow managed to achieve it after a few fails. 💪

Ash’s previous record was 5.87 m (19 ft 3 in).

After months of training, Ash rose to the occasion of GWR Day and did the unthinkable – he set a new record of 6 m (19 ft 7 in)🎉

"Being able to break my own Guinness World Records title after years of training feels incredible, back in 2018 when I first broke the record I could never have imagined adding a whole 13cm onto the distance three years later." - Ash Watson

Ash was being cheered on by his friends and family in his hometown gym in Leeds. 😍

They all watched in disbelief as he swung around the bar and launched himself through the air over and over again. 😵

After getting really close a few times, Ash successfully caught hold of the bar on the other side. He said he felt relieved because he didn’t want to let his friends and family down.

Ash definitely didn’t disappoint – his back flip was amazing🤩

Our adjudicator Alan Pixley commented: "Seeing Ash achieve this record was truly spectacular, he totally embodies this year's theme of super skills."
