Meet Pumuckel, the shortest horse in the world!
Meet Pumuckel, the world’s shortest living horse (male), who measures just 52.6 cm (21.1 in) to the withers, but he has the confidence of an animal 10 times his size!
Look at him and his gorgeous hair – can you blame him?
Pumuckel lives in a farm in Germany with his owner Carola Weidemann, who gives him the star treatment he deserves.

Carola ended up bringing Pumuckel home after a friend who was looking for therapy horses told her about him.
She said: “I drove over, took a look at him and was truly, completely shocked. I had never seen such a small, little horse before.”
Isn’t he adorable?!
Pumuckel is happy to help around at the farm most days, before relaxing in the field with his other horse friends.
Carola also explained that Pumuckel was not bred to be the size that he is, but that his small stature is simply a “quirk of nature”.
The tiny trotter is trained as a therapy horse and regularly visits nursing homes, hospices, schools and facilities for people with disabilities.

And of course, as a reward for all his hard work, he absolutely loves being pampered and being fed his favourite snacks, like carrots and apples!
Do you have any pets? What’s their favourite snack?

Pumuckel is over 4 cm shorter than previous record holder Bombel from Poland, who measured 56.7 cm (22.36 in) – and who’s also really cute.
He has lots of friends – just look at him playing with other horses and even a cat!

“He has a very lovable character,” Carola told us. “He’s incredibly good with children, he loves being scratched and cuddled.
“Pumuckel loves being the centre of attention.”
And really, why shouldn’t he?!
Congratulations, little Pumuckel, you are Officially Amazing.
