Ozzy, the dog with the LONGEST TONGUE in the world, met Santa!

If you like dogs, you will LOVE Ozzy!

He has a droopy grin, likes to jump around like a kangaroo, and lives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA with the Pick family. 

The French and Bull mastiff mix has broken a world record just in time for the holidays – now he’s definitely getting on Santa’s nice list!

Ozzy broke the Guinness World Records title for the longest tongue on a living dog this year for his 7.83 in (19.89 cm) long licker, which usually hangs out the side of his mouth – isn’t he adorable?

Ozzy’s tongue is longer than the longest human tongues, which belong to Chanel Tapper and Nick Stoeberl!

Ozzy’s family was super happy when they discovered he held the world record, after his vets measured his giant tongue from the end of his snout to the tip.

“He has always had a tongue that sticks out of his mouth, ever since he was born,” Angela Pick, his owner, explained. 

“But there’s nothing medically wrong with him, we’ve had him looked at a couple of times by a veterinarian, and there’s no dental issues or anything – it’s just abnormally, awkwardly long!”

And might we add, record-breakingly long too!

Ozzy is living a sweet life with his loving family, who even brought him to meet Santa – look at the iconic picture they took of them wearing matching hats!

What present do you think Ozzy asked Santa for? We bet it was a huge bone for his huge tongue…

The Pick family has had Ozzy ever since he was a puppy, and they say that, surprisingly, he rarely uses his tongue for giving sloppy kisses or cleaning crumbs off the floor.

Angela explained that: “It’s funny, for his tongue to be the way that it is, he doesn’t really lick a whole lot.

“He doesn’t give kisses – he gets in your face and kind of loves and rubs noses, but he doesn’t really lick on a lot of stuff!”

Well, can you imagine the mess if he did?!

So what is Ozzy like?

He likes to spend his time playing in the yard with his family, going for car rides, and jumping up and down like a bunny when he’s excited. 

“Just with his personality, you could kind of tell with his great nature that he’d be a really good fit for our family,” said Angela. 

Do you have any pets in your family?

“He’s extremely lazy, but he’s very active at the same time, which is crazy. He goes outside and hops around like a kangaroo,” she continued.

“He’s very playful when he knows he’s supposed to. Sometimes he doesn’t know his size, but he knows that he can’t tackle us either because he’s bigger than us!”

So don’t expect him to bring you your slippers in bed, but you can definitely count on him for playtime – got it!

Of course, every time Ozzy goes out in public, his giant tongue is always the topic of conversation.

His family also said it’s “super-duper exciting” that Ozzy is getting appreciation for his awesome tongue, as they’re finally able to share their love for him with the entire world…
