10-year-old fashion designer Max broke 2 more records at Paris Fashion Week

Do you remember Max, the gifted fashion designer?

When he was just 4 years old, Max Alexander from USA told his mum and dad that he wanted to be a dressmaker. And indeed, 3 years later, he became the youngest person to design a runway show!

Then, earlier this year, he unveiled an incredible eco-friendly collection at Paris Fashion Week.

But neither Max nor his sewing machine are slowing down, as he returned to the record books after becoming the youngest person to release a fabric/textile line at the age of 10 years and 196 days!

WOW.

Max unveiled his work with Mood Fabrics in front of an excited crowd of fashion-lovers on 14 September in the Garment District in New York City, New York, USA. 

It doesn’t get any more iconic than this!

He draped the new designs over mannequins and explained their environmentally friendly backgrounds, and took on a fun new record attempt for the fastest time to thread a sewing machine (automatic). Finishing easily in just 10.16 seconds, he claimed his 4th Guinness World Records title!

Sewing and fashion started as Max’s hobbies, and ended up being his biggest passions and making him a record breaker…

Michael Empric, the Guinness World Records Adjudicator that oversaw his attempt, said: “Max is absolutely one of a kind, and his energy, talent and personality were incredible. At times I felt like I was doing an improv comedy routine… which made for a really unique experience!”

Max has launched his own clothing brand, dressed various celebrities, was featured in a documentary at Tribeca Film Festival and has designed his own runway show at Paris Fashion Week…

In other words, he’s already a legend in the world of fashion, despite his young age!

Let Max be proof that you can achieve amazing things at any age.

What he loves most, though, is turning everyday materials into inventive dresses. He explained to Reuters that his favourite part of fashion is that you can make clothing out of absolutely anything, allowing for endless creativity!

“You can make a dress out of pickles. You can make a dress out of spoons. You can make a dress out of hangers,” he said. “It's, like, crazy.”

Mood Fabrics is where Max could finally let all of his creativity go wild – it helped him create a line full of fuzzy fabrics, expressive animal prints, and even fluid, satin-looking prints made from recycled polyester!

Sounds pretty cool, right?

When he was presented with his Guinness World Records medal after the attempt, he said: “this is awesome, because I can wear this to school!”

And as we are sure he’s not done breaking fashion records, we simply can’t wait to see what he’ll do next…
