International Dog Day: these are the BEST WORLD RECORDS broken by pooches
26 August is International Dog Day, a special day to celebrate our furry best friends and all the amazing things they can do!
Do you have a dog?
They’re our loyal pals and playful companions, they make us laugh, cheer us up when we’re sad, and are always ready to follow us on adventures… 🐶
But only some of them have even made it into the record books for their incredible talents!
So get ready to celebrate International Dog Day by meeting the pups who have broken the most pawsome world records. 👇
Tallest and smallest dog
Earlier this year, 2 ICONIC dogs met for the first time and became besties in no time!
We’re talking about none other than Reginald (Reggie), the tallest dog in the world, and Pearl, the smallest dog.
Reggie’s owners always get lots of funny questions about his size, like:
- how big are his poops (you don’t want to know) 💩
- do they have a saddle for him (no)
- do they ride him (no)
- does he sleep in their bed with them (surprisingly, yes!) 😂
And Pearl? She’s just the biggest diva you will ever meet, with the most fabulous clothes. 💅
Bonnie and Simba
Bonnie, the 5-year-old Spaniel, and Simba, the 3-year-old Border Collie, have become Internet famous with their amazing tricks! 🤩
Here are just a few of the record they have broken as a duo:
- Fastest time to complete 10 side leapfrog jumps by two dogs (16.78 seconds)
- Most coins deposited into a bottle by a dog in one minute (13)
- Most clothes hung on a washing line by a dog in one minute (17)
Their owner, Olga, told us more about their personalities:
"Bonnie is very much like a princess, but not like a spoiled princess, more like a Princess Leia from Star Wars: capable, fun, but definitely a princess.
“Simba immediately becomes the lovable centre of any company."
Frisbee-catching champion
Meet Sully, a 6-year-old Border Collie with some seriously impressive catching skills.
She broke the record for the most times to catch a flying disc (frisbee) over 10 metres by a dog in 3 minutes, with 22 times - WOW!
Sully teamed up with her human friend, Scott Howard, who is actually her owner’s dad. So, whenever Scott dog-sits, the two play frisbee together…
One day, Scott decided it would be fun to turn their favourite game into a world record – and the rest is history. 😎
Longest conga line of dogs
Teamwork makes the dream work – and doggies can be amazing team players!
That’s how Wolfgang Lauenburger (Germany) managed to break the record for the world’s longest conga line of dogs – by having 14 amazing pooches who worked together as a team.
Their names? Emma, Filou, Fin, Simon, Susy, Maya, Ulf, Speck, Bibi, Katie, Jennifer, Elvis, Charly and Cathy. 🐕 🐕 🐕
Largest Dalmatian collection

We couldn’t wrap up this list without including a record that’s a little bit different, but very cool!
Scott Erbele from USA owns the largest collection of Dalmatian-related items with a whopping 1,152.
From plush toys to figurines and artwork to Christmas decorations, you name it, and Scott has probably got a Dalmatian-themed version of it!
If it can be made with spots, Scott probably has it. 😉
🔎And here’s a fun fact: real Dalmatians are born completely white, and their famous spots don’t start to appear until they’re a few weeks old!
