Tallest dog: When measured on 13 Sep 2016, in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, UK, Freddy the Great Dane was found to be 1.035 m (3 ft 4.75 in) tall. Freddy’s owner is Claire Stoneman (pictured). Ironically, when he was born, Freddy was the smallest puppy in the litter, but then underwent an unexpected growth spurt. Unfortunately for Claire, Freddy has a soft spot for leather sofas: he’d chomped through 14 of them within 18 months of arriving at her home!
