This might sound cheesy, but we think our record holders are really grate! (ha! get it?)
In the Guinness World Records 2025 book, we even dedicated a whole section to cheese. 😋
Let’s find out more about our record-breaking dairy dishes, from the largest to the smelliest…
Say CHEESE! 🧀
Largest cheese sculpture
The Cheese Lady, aka Sarah Kaufmann (USA), transformed a towering block of cheddar into an alligator in a chef’s hat frying a turkey.
The unique sculpture weighed 1,415.6 kg (3,121 lb) – that’s about 5 times heavier than the average alligator. 🐊 🐊 🐊 🐊 🐊
Since 1981, Sarah has chiselled over 4,000 cheesy constructs! 🫨
She made this carving for Erik Acquistapace’s family-run deli, with cheddar from master cheesemaker Kerry Henning.
Largest cheese sculpture of a mammal
And now for the largest cheese sculpture of a mammal, which was produced by Shanghai Milkground Food Tech Co., Ltd (China) and weighed over 400kg (881.84 lb).
It took over 72 hours for a team of 20 people to complete the cow! 🐄
Once the mouth-watering mammal had grasped GWR glory, it was divided into roughly 24,000 slices.

Largest grilled cheese sandwich
American YouTubers Exodus and Iggy Chaudry entered the record books when they were just 10 and 11 years old!
With the help of the Exodus and Iggy Show team and over 40 kg (88lb 2.95 oz) of cheese, the brothers cooked the largest grilled cheese sandwich. 🥪
The superlative sarnie measured 1.89 m (6 ft 2.41 in) wide, 3.32 m (10ft 10.7 in) long and 7 cm (2.75 in) thick.
It also weighed 189.9 kg (418 lb 11oz) – that’s equivalent to the weight of an average male lion! 🦁
Most varieties of cheese on a pizza
Can you believe there are 1,001 different types of cheese stacked on this pizza? 😮
It was made by French chefs Fabien Montellanico and Benoît Bruel, cheese connoisseur Sophie Hatat Richart-Luna and YouTuber Florian OnAir.
They made such a gouda team!
What toppings would you put on your dream pizza? 🍕
Smelliest cheese
According to research by Cranfield University (UK), a soft French cheese named Vieux-Boulogne is the smelliest in the world! 🤢
The stinking samples were sniffed by 19 humans and 1 electronic nose, which tested for gaseous molecules.
One judge could even smell the Vieux-Boulogne from a distance of 50 m (164 ft) – the length of an Olympic swimming pool to brie precise. 🤯
It’s even more pungent than the notoriously smelly Époisses de Bourgogne, which France has banned from being taken on public transport!
