Do you have an electric toothbrush?
Dentists recommend them because they help us to clean our teeth better. 🦷
However, there’s only one toothbrush in the world that can do so much more than that...
Let me introduce you to the largest electric toothbrush! 🪥
Over 8 times the normal size, this gigantic replica has a height of 2.008 metres (6 feet 7 inches).
This makes it even taller than a horse! 🐎
The towering toothbrush was built by Ruth Amos and Shawn Brown in Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK.
The pair are best known for their YouTube channel, Kids Invent Stuff.
Since 2017, they have built over 70 creations suggested by kids aged 4 to 11, including a motorized magic carpet, a periscope hat and a karaoke mop. 🎤
Do you want to know what makes this toothbrush even more epic?
It’s actually a gardening tool in disguise! 😮
The toothbrush head can be used to sweep up leaves, or it can be replaced with a sharp blade to cut the grass.
It can even chop down tree branches. 🌲
That’s one POWERFUL toothbrush!
So, how did Ruth and Shawn end up building this multi-functional, metal masterpiece? 🤔
Well, 11-year-old George Bond suggested the idea when they were on the lookout for garden-themed contraptions.
He remembered watching his dad and grandad chopping down a large tree stump in their back garden and became inspired to make an invention with an axe attached to it. 🪓
George then tried to think of a household item with an interchangeable top, and that’s how he decided on an electric toothbrush.
Such a clever idea! 👏
George, who is now 15 years old, told GWR: “My parents were glad that I had come up with an invention that made use of the situations happening around me.”
If you could create something, what would it be? 💭
Recalling the 1st time he saw the toothbrush in action, George said: “I was in shock and awe that my own idea had been created in real life.”
Fun fact – Ruth and Shawn named the toothbrush after George! ❤️
“I feel a great sense of accomplishment in knowing that I have contributed to a world record,” he added. “If I had been told about this back when I was 11, I would never have believed it.”
So, what advice does George have for any keen creators?
“If you can think of it, you can make it. Anything is possible.” 🌟
