It’s our favourite time of the year, when we get to look back and remember some of the most EPIC records of 2025.

This year we’ve seen some totally AWESOME records get smashed, and it’s really hard to choose, but… we did it!

So get ready - here’s a compilation of the coolest, craziest, and most amazing record-breaking moments of the year.

And here is a list of our top picks – starting with some of the coolest kids we’ve ever met…

Cool kids

Have you ever tried gymnastics?

It’s a sport where athletes use their strength, balance, and flexibility to perform cool moves like flips, jumps, and spins!

Kynlee Heiman from USA, also known as “Kynlee the Great”, is a very cool and talented girl who just broke a gymnastics world record earlier this year.

On 25 February, she rotated around the bar 18 TIMES, achieving the most gymnastic bar toe-to-hand movements in 30 seconds (female).

WOW!

And if you’re not that into sports, maybe you’ll find Aaryan Shukla’s record more fascinating: he’s the ‘Human Calculator Kid’, a true super-hero!

Aaryan can do maths in his head quicker than anyone can type it into a calculator – yes, really.

Some of the records he holds are for the fastest time to mentally add 100 4-digit numbers (30.9 seconds) and fastest time to mentally multiply 10 sets of 2 5-digit numbers (51.69 seconds).

Pretty cool, right?

But you don’t always need some super unique skill in order to break a record – sometimes, all it takes is doing something many people enjoy, like rope skipping, but doing it better than anyone else.

That’s how Wu Chenjun from China achieved the record for most skips in 30 seconds – 171!

Lastly, BMX legend Tsumugi Tamura from Japan blew everyone away when he became the youngest person to land a backflip on a BMX bike (male), at just 5 years and 313 days.

Unbelievable…

Animal heroes

Now let’s see some of our beloved record-breaking animals…

Back in April, the world’s tallest dog, a Great Dane named Reggie and Chihuahua Pearl (both from USA), the shortest dog, met up for the first time ever!

How adorable?!

And even though Reggie is 3 ft 3 in (1.007 m) tall and Pearl stands at just 3.59 in (9.14 cm), they quickly became besties during their play date.

We also met 2 wonderful record-breaking donkeys who live together at a sanctuary in the UK, and they have the best time together.

Dynamic Derrick is the world’s tallest living donkey at 5 ft 5 in (167 cm) and Bambou has the longest ears on a donkey, measuring 1 ft 1 in (35 cm).

And speaking of big animals, here is another big boy named King Kong – he’s the tallest living water buffalo!

He’s a massive 6 ft 0.8 in (185 cm) tall and is living like a true king on a farm in Thailand.

Fun records

Chanel Tapper from USA has the world’s longest tongue on a woman

At 9.75 cm (3.8 in) from the tip to her lips, her tongue often gets shocked reactions from people – sometimes they even SCREAM in horror when they see it…

How would you react if you saw Chanel’s snake-like tongue in real life?

Another fun record is that of the most Jenga blocks stacked on one vertical Jenga block – 4,881!

This incredible feat was achieved by Abbetjes Meindert De Boer from Canada.

Can you achieve the fastest time to build a 30 level stackable wooden blocks tower? Find out more about this challenge here.

And lastly, the record for most balloons burst by sitting in 30 seconds (52) definitely had us giggling in the best way!

Charles Weiler from USA used his agility, speed and balance to break this super fun record, and you can attempt the under-16 version here.
