All grandmas and grandpas do is knit, bake and nap, right?
Think again. 😎
These record-breaking seniors are talented and cool, proving that age is just a number.
Get ready to meet the coolest grandparents on the planet!
At the age of 92 years and 99 days, Dwan Jacobsen Young from the USA wowed everyone by waterskiing 1 km (0.6 miles) across Bear Lake in Idaho.
Dwan first learned to waterski in 1961 when she was 29 and has been hitting the water every summer since…
In fact, now she even skis alongside her great-grandkids! 🤩
Her advice?
“Do not be afraid to try a new sport when you are older. You are more capable than you think.”
Thanks Dwan. 💪
A grandmother from Alberta, Canada, has broken TWO awesome fitness records!
At the age of 58, she planked for 4 hours 30 minutes and 11 seconds, achieving the longest time in an abdominal plank position by a woman. 🫨
A plank is like a super-strength test – you rest on your forearms and toes while keeping your whole body straight like a board, staying as still as you can!
Give it a try… Can you do it for more than 30 seconds? 😉
But DonnaJean didn’t stop there, as the next year she went on to break another record, the most push ups in one hour by a woman – 1,575.
WOW.
At 75 years and 331 days old, Ken Moller from the USA showed off his awesome hacky sack skills (the sport’s official name is footbag) at the 2023 US Open Footbag Championships!
He competed in the Intermediate Freestyle Routine event and won 1st place.
Pretty cool, right? 🤩
Ken isn’t stopping anytime soon – he plans to keep competing until he’s 80.
What an inspiration!
These were all amazing achievements, but what if you’re not very sporty?
Well, you can still be inspired by the iconic Yang Binglin, also known as ‘Gamer Grandpa’, who achieved a remarkable world record at the age of 88 by becoming the oldest male gaming streamer.
Playing all your favourite videogames and breaking a record from it?
That’s the dream! 🤪
At the age of 106 years and 327 days, Alfred “Al” Blaschke broke this incredible record for the SECOND time, reclaiming it after it was broken by someone else!
That’s what we call dedication. 👏
Watching on from below were all of Al’s children and grandchildren, all rooting for super grandpa!
