The Guinness World Records 2023 book features a special ‘Human Body’ chapter, all filled with people who have record-breaking characteristics.
It could be anything, really!

Largest afro
At just 13 years of age, Tyler Wright (USA) grew the world’s largest afro! 🤩
It measured a whopping 25.4 cm (10 in) high, 22.9 cm (9 in) wide and 177 cm (5 ft 10 in) in circumference.
Here’s what Tyler said about his achievement:
"It’s changed my life because I realize that I’m a thirteen year old and I’m able to get into a book for having the world’s largest male afro - and if I’m only thirteen and I can do that, I know I can do almost anything I want when I’m older.”

Longest head hair
Xie Qiuping (China) combed out her hair to 5.627 m (18 ft 5.5 in), as verified in 2004.
She last had a haircut in 1973, when she was just 13 years old! 😮
When asked about the challenges of having such long hair, she said:
"It's no trouble at all, but you need patience and you need to hold yourself straight when you have hair like this."
Tallest Mohawk
Now, let’s talk about a record that defies gravity.
In 2019, Joseph Grisamore (USA) grew his hair and styled it into a Mohican that stood proudly at 108.2 cm (3 ft 6.5 in) tall! 🤯
In fact, Joseph attempted the record for the tallest Mohawk spike in 2006 but didn’t succeed.
Despite his disappointment, he decided to not give up and, instead, turned his attention to breaking this other record!

Longest eyelash
You Jianxia’s (China) super lengthy eyelashes will make you look twice 👀
In 2021, the record-breaking eyelashes on her left upper lid measured 20.5 cm (8 in) – that’s as long as a carrot! 🥕
While no one knows the reason for this phenomenon, it has unexpected benefits for You:
"Thanks to my naturally long eyelashes, I don’t need to wear eyeshadow or eyeliner!
As she further explains,
"I did visit professionals to find out why this is happening. The doctor couldn't explain it, and he felt it was really amazing.”

20-year-old Nilanshi Patel (India) broke the record for the longest hair on a teenager back when she was just 15!
In 2018, her hair was 1.75 m (5 ft 8 in) long.
The secret to her success was… patience!
In fact, she had been growing her hair since the age of six, and calls it her "lucky charm".✨
But here’s an unexpected turn of events…
After 12 years of growing her hair, Nilashi decided to cut it off and donate it to a museum!

Longest locs
Asha Mandela has been the proud record-holder of the world’s longest locs since 2009, when they measured 5.96 m (19 ft 6.5 in) long.
According to her Instagram bio, Asha’s luxurious hair has now grown to the incredible length of 33.5 m (110 ft)! 🤯
Asha washes her hair once per week - a task which requires six bottles of shampoo in total. Afterwards, it takes two whole days to dry!
